AlUla Film Campus, Phase 1

€0.00

Twenty minutes from the ancient town of AlUla - an old Oasis in the several routes crossing the arabian desert, Film AlUla planned the development of a new studio campus.

The region can attract a variety of productions seeking to benefit from its otherworldly environment. The new studio complex will provide the necessary infrastructure with state of the art support for set construction, film production, and stage and on-location filming.

In partnership with Jason + Tsai Design Associates and with the support of Martin Zangerl (Bureau Mach), OOAU developed the program and masterplan for the first two phases of the campus.

The first phase is composed by two 2,450m²-stages, supported by a total of 3,000m² workshops and 4000m² production facilities.

The organization of the volumes allows for each studio to be used totally autonomously, with independent accesses to private loading docks and trailer area. However, their internal organization allows a production to expand and use parts of the other suite, while maintaining a degree of privacy.

The design started in September 2022 as a design & build project with FMC Construction, and the building was officially delivered in November 2023.
