    Maximum Effect / Minimum Effort

Creating value through design is fundamental to our approach. The relevance and advantage of a design (cultural and social value) needs to be balanced with the short and long-term investment (economic value) of its production and maintenance, as well as the impact and return on both the local environment and the places of origin and production of materials (environmental value).

A good understanding of new and old materials, as well as real and current production and construction methods, leads to solutions that may appear intricate or complex, but are achieved in a cost-effective manner.

    Over 25 years Experience

Founded in 2015 by Nuno Almeida, OOAU draws on his vast experience in managing large-scale and complex international projects for over two decades.

In the 16 years before the founding of OOAU, he led, as Director at UNStudio (Netherlands), the Masterplan and the design of the Arnhem High-Speed Station, in the Netherlands, and the design of the Doha Metro Network Stations, in Qatar, among other. Both projects are characterized by their high complexity, not only because of their geometric challenges, but also because they carry a high degree of political and strategic sensitivity.
